Magic Kingdom

All year we've talked about the Princess Castle, and now it was time to go see the real thing! We got to the park around 9:30 and it took us a little over an hour to get into the park - from parking, taking the car-mobile, then train, then waiting in line to buy tickets and get in....it was such an ordeal.  But they're worth it, right?  We are all soo sweaty already and it's still early.

Waiting in line for the mad-hatter tea cups.

Ready to go!

Waiting for a race car ride. The last time Isaac went on this he must have been 6 and came out with a bloody nose because Anthony slammed on the breaks.

On the people mover....again so hot and sweaty!

This was the first and maybe only ride Jacob got on.  It wasn't worth it for him.  He was free!

While Anthony and Isaac went on Space Mountain, the little ones, Grandma and I had some ice cream...yum.

More rides in the afternoon.  This was the line up for a small roller coaster.  I was worried Claire was going to freak out on it, but she didn't.  She actually squealed with delight!

Posing with Ariel and Eric and hoping to see the real thing.

As we waited for the afternoon parade, I bought the kids bubble guns to pass the time.  They had lots of fun with them.

Getting ready for the parade...almost time and I'm almost ready to quit and we haven't done very much.

You can see the sweat glistening off Anthony.

Passengers on the river boat waited for the parade as well.

The marching band signalling the start.

And here comes the welcome wagon and dancers.

Mickey and Minnie kicked it off.

Followed by Pinnochio and Jimminee Cricket.

Snow White and the Prince.

Evil Jafar.

And the Genie.

Alladin on his flying carpet.

Captain Hook, Smee, Tweedle Dee and Dum and the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.
As Tweedle Dee or Dum walked by, he grabbed Isaac's hat and pulled it over his eyes and started playfully punching him in the stomach.  It was hilarious.

Peter Pan, Wendy, Alice and Mad Hatter.

The mice, Step-mother and Step-sisters from Cinderella.

Fairy Godmother followed by....

Cinderella and Prince Charming.

And the rest of the princesses came on this float.

The little mermaid, Ariel, Prince Eric, Sleeping Beauty and Prince Philip.

Belle and the Beast.

This was the best way to see all of the characters.  We didn't want to stand in line.  It was far too hot and after our family photo, headed home....earlier than expected!  Claire and Jacob were done.

Playing with their balloons as we waited for the car-mobile to take us back to our van.

All in all, parade was worth it to see everyone.  But it was too hot to truly enjoy ourselves.  And for what we paid, $500 to get in plus the cost of lunch, ice cream, pop-corn, disney hats, bubble guns, and balloons, I'm sure it comes up close to $1000.  Was it worth it?  Ummmmm, NO!

The first thing we did when we got back to the resort was put on our swim suits and hit the pool.

It was soo refreshing!  I don't think we'll be venturing to any more theme parks for the rest of the week and will have lots to keep us busy!
