The Bumbo

Jacob loves to be on his tummy. He makes it look so easy. Claire definitely didn't enjoy it this much when she was his age. I think this little guy is going to be a crawler.

I also put him in the Bumbo for the first time today! Look how cute he is!

I looked up Claire's picture the first time I put her in. It was around the exact same time.

She definitely wasn't as chunky as Jacob is!

Fantasy Fair

My mom is spending the weekend with us so we kept Claire home given Isaac had a P.A. day and spent the day at Fantasy Fair. Claire was so excited. She asked me at least 5 times on the way to the fair if she could ride the horsey's (on the carousel).

Here are Isaac and Claire waiting in line for their turn.

Claire posing on her horse. Before getting on her horse she said to me, "Mommy, I'm not scared!"

She said her horse was going to beat Isaac's.

Isaac wasn't so sure about that. He had a pretty big horse.

Claire also went on the boats all by herself. She did a good job sitting on her bottom. She however needed to do a better job of keeping her eyes on where she was going!

Isaac on another ride. He was spinning his cart like crazy!

Claire on the same ride. We rode in a separate cart because I didn't want to get sick.

Claire taking the wheel.

Jacob and Grandma waiting patiently. This is the photo before Jacob pooped all over. I litterally threw the undershirt he had on away.

It was a great day!

Multi-tasking

This is how you put Jacob to bed and play online poker at the same time.

Daddy is quite talented.

Happy Valentine's Day

With kids, you have to make every holiday an EVENT! While they were at school/daycare, I went out and picked up some goodies for everyone. They came to the dinner table with special bags for each of them.

Claire was very excited and was first at the table.

Daddy and Jacob.

Isaac helping Claire open her bag. Disney Princess gummies, yay!

My attempt at being artistic. A photo of Jacob behind his vday card.

Everyone looking happy with their gifts. Everyone got an assortment of treats except Jacob who got all books...which Claire quickly snatched away. She did get 2 of her own but ofcourse she wanted his.

I also baked a 4-layer tuxedo cake. It was delicious. I used a box of swiss chocolate and french vanilla cake mix and it ended up yielding enough for 2 separate 4-layer cakes. This is not good for my diet.

And all of our cards prominently displayed on the fireplace.

Grown-ups Vday dinner

Marc, Joanne, Anthony and I enlisted the help of the grandparents to take all the kids so that we could enjoy a vday meal without any child interuptions. We went out to Chatterpauls. It was delicious!!! Some photos of the happy couples.

Anthony and I.

Marc and Joanne.

Group shot. We had a really nice time. The food was tasty and we didn't even have to stop once to tell someone to sit down, keep their bib on or bribe anyone to finish their food.

Meanwhile back at the house, the kids were all having a good time. Claire and Jacob.

Adam playing Isaac's iPod touch.

Sledding in the back yard....without proper footwear or gloves I might add (Note - the parents of these children were not consulted in advance). What were the grandparents thinking? As if there was never going to be another opportunity to take this photo. Claire and Adam are recovering from their frost bite.

Jacob cozy inside on the swing - thank goodness!

Crowded

Jacob was having a nice time playing under his activity gym and then Claire just had to go and squish herself under too. This toy is not made for 2!

She just can't leave him be. Look at the fear in his eyes.

She insists she is just being the good big sister by showing him how to play with it. All the while she kept rolling onto him. Jacob was not impressed and is feeling a little crowded.

These 2 should not be left unsupervised. Whose side would I take? They are both little angels!

30 Month Milestone

Claire turned 2 1/2 years old today! My time has flown by and although she is the big sister, she is still so little. Our sweet little girl has a special place in our hearts. As the middle child and only girl, she has a lot to live up to with her soccer star big brother and tough guy little brother. For everyone who knows Claire, we are all confident that she can hold her own between them! I have always said she's that perfect mix of sweet and sassy. Sweet like her Daddy and sassy like Mommy ofcourse! Her former rocker has graduated to baby Jacob's room, so here is her latest picture on her new grown up chair.

Ironically, Claire wore a similar outfit in her 9 month photo. Look at the difference 21 months makes!

That was back when she was cooperative. The 2 1/2 year old Claire is not so cooperative! Getting her to sit still and pose on the chair is getting a bit harder as you can see by the silly and uninterested photos below.

She wanted to get Jacob in the photos too ofcourse. See how excited he was.

Claire has such an unpredictable personality. I quote her daycare teacher: "with Claire you never know what you're gonna get when she comes in." So true...haha. She's an adventurous little girl too. She's become a fan of superheroes because of her big cousin Ryan (aka Superman) and her Grandma made her a cape just like his. She loves it and is also appropriately known as Supergirl!

She may look sweet, but never get Supergirl on your bad side. I repeat NEVER. The wrath of Supergirl is like nothing you have ever experienced. Just ask her Daddy and he'll tell you.

And she's off enjoying life and living every moment of it in true Miss Claire (as I like to call her) style.

And the slideshow of months past...boo hoo...

Found It!

Guess who found their thumb!!!

Yep, it's right in there. We have a thumb sucker in the family!

This Morning...

The kids were up bright and early and watched cartoons in our room. Claire wanted to hold Jacob so I let her and this is what Jacob had to say about it:

Mom - are you serious? Why am I this close to her? This was not the deal.

I really don't feel comfortable....your little baby is slipping here.

Alright fine, I'll go with it but don't be upset if she drops me.

Finally, this is much better. She had a death grip on me.

This is nice. I could get used to this.
