So Close....

Claire is getting really close to rolling over. She will completely turn her neck and most of her shoulders. All she needs to do is get her leg up and it'll be up and over!

My Remote

Claire's had a cold the past couple of days so today she took it easy and had a pyjama day. She also kicked back and watched some TV. Like her Daddy, she always has to hold the remote. How can we say no to this cutie pie??

We are getting there! Here she is sitting on my lap all by herself. She's still hunched forward but we are making progress!

Claire just makes me laugh. Whenever we put her on her tummy she refuses to relax her arms. She's always flexing her abs and holding her arms up like she's surfing. We'll have to take her to Hawaii when we go back.....someday.....boo hoo.

Yay Isaac and Claire!

Today was a good day!

Claire had her weigh in at the doctors and she gained 2 lbs in the last month! She's becoming a little porker.

And big brother Isaac found out that he made the outdoor rep soccer team! He's been trying out for the team since October. The coach said he has the head, the feet and most importantly, the heart - all great elements as a soccer player and member of the team.

We're super proud of the kids!

5 Month Milestone

Claire is 5 months old today! We've been working on fattening her up since she's a little underweight. You can already see the difference by looking at her photo from last month and her current photo. One more month and we're on solids. It's sooo exciting!

What a show off! Only 3 days later and we're doing no hands now! We decided to name her horsey Cotton.

Just Sweet

Today I watched a video that Grandpa C made for Claire. It documented her first 4 months of life. As I was watching the footage, I was also feeding Claire. I was starting to get emotional because I couldn't believe how fast time has flown by and how much she has changed and touched our lives in such a short amount of time. All of a sudden, Claire started bawling, pouty lip and all. It was as if she could read me and felt the same way.

There was also some footage of the first time Grandma and Granpa C babysat both Ryan and Claire in Whitby. There was one part where Claire was sitting in her bouncy chair just watching Ryan all about. Grandma sat next to her and was attending to her needs like wiping her chin and adjusting her bib. And whatever Grandma did to Claire, Ryan would also copy. It was too cute when Grandma went to adjust Claire's head and then Ryan ran over and grabbed her head to do the same but unintentionally without the same amount of gentleness. I couldn't stop laughing. He is going to be a great big brother!!!

Practice Makes Perfect

We have been practicing sitting up on her own. I took Claire's U pillow from her tummy time mat and fit it around her waist for support. She is making progress. Her back will be strong enough in no time! A shot from the back. Yep, she's still got that bald spot!

Riding Lessons

We had a visit from Grandma K and Aunt Natalie and cousin Thaiana yesterday. Since Claire is still a bit too small for her pony cousin Thaiana volunteered to help Claire practice riding. Here they are having a good time.

Tank top Tony

As I was changing Claire she reminded me of my brother when he was in his teens. He was known as "Tank top Tony" by his friends because he was always in his signature white tank top. So I decided to do this tribute.

"Tank top Tony" back in 1999 with a then very tiny baby Isaac (10 months old). What studs!

I can see the family resemblance looking at these photos. Look at the pipes they're both sporting! I trust this makes her uncle proud!

For Grandpa

We had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa C on the weekend. Having just woken up, Claire was a bit cranky at first and Grandpa thought maybe she was scared of him. After her bottle she was in better spirits and enjoyed the company.

What it would be like to have fraternal twins

We got a taste of what it would be like to have twins. We babysat Baby Ben for a few hours yesterday while his Mommy and Daddy went out. Ben was in good spirits but it took Claire a while to warm up to having to share her Mommy and Daddy (and her toys).

Here they are in the crib. Claire is looking a bit unsure as to why there is another baby in her crib.

We then moved her a bit closer to see how she would react. She kept trying to grab his face but we won't show that footage.

Ben was okay with this and he tried to hold Claire's hand. Claire still wasn't biting.

Then she finally gave up and said okay.

Thumper or Mumble?

Claire just loves to move her feet. She reminds me of either Thumper from Bambi or Mumble from Happy Feet. We secretly played in Isaac's room while he and Daddy were at soccer. Shh!!

Bad Mr. Sun!

Claire had a case of the giggles! She was playing in her exersaucer yesterday and she was just in stitches when Mr. Sun got whacked. Her giggling is just too cute.

Funny that she found it amusing to see Mr. Sun getting beat. She must get this from her Daddy because apparently when he was younger, whenever you found him laughing, it was usually because someone else was experiencing some sort of cruelty.

The Cadillac of Playpens

We wasted no time putting away our Christmas decorations this year. We really didn't have a choice because we had to make some room for the playpen Claire got for Christmas. Here it is all set up. It's massive!
