2 Pigs in a Basket

You should have heard them squeal.

They enjoyed being pushed around.

Jr. Toddler Room

Claire had her first visit in the Jr. Toddler room today. She will be transitioning this week and starting in the new room on Feb 22nd. She is no longer a baby! Look how grown-up she looks.

I love this outfit on her. It screams "I'm a big girl now!"

I can't let her grow up! I'm gonna hold onto her as long as I can!

Lance Romance

I told Anthony he could not buy me a card this year and that he would have to make me his own. This is what he came up with:

To my wife on Valentine's Day,

It is difficult to put into words how I feel about you, but I will try:

-You are like an extra large Tim Horton's coffee on a cold winter morning
-You are like a nice surround sound speaker system during an action scene in Top Gun
-You are like finding a $20 bill in an old jacket pocket
-You are like a Keg-sized New York steak cooked perfectly to medium rare
-You are like receiving a hug from your child when you don't even ask for one
-You are like a new batch of chicken balls at the Mandarin or a bottomless bowl of gummy worms and wine gums.

You make me feel like the luckiest person in the world and I love you for it!!
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Love, Anthony...

For everyone that knows Anthony, this is pretty darn romantic. He also coloured little red hearts all over the page.
I'm so lucky!

Valentine Olympians

We bought the kids Team Canada gear for Valentine's day. Some pictures of our big and little olympians.

Isaac looking sporty in his hoodie.

Claire in her onsie.

Olympic wrestling. Claire is not afraid to take Isaac on.

Pausing for a moment to watch Canada competing on T.V.

Throwing a fit when Canada did not win gold.

She is clearly a sore loser.

18 Month Milestone

Claire is 18 months old today! Her personality is really starting to shine through. I say she is every bit her Daddy on the outside with her eyes and smile.

She is every bit her Mommy on the inside with her strong will and “take-charge” (put nicely) attitude. The daycare summed it up nicely in her progress report she received as she will be moving to a new class. Here is a snippet of what her report said:

…Claire has been saying the names of some of her peers and pointing to them as well. She pretends at times as if she’s one of the teachers…

…We are continuing to work with Claire during playtimes on sharing and taking turns with 1-2 other peers…

Really, does this look like someone who doesn`t know how to share?

She loves life!

And Teddy.

She is talking up a storm too. We wrote down all the words that she uses on a daily basis and there are over 100!!!! We've got some cute videos but for some reason I can't post them. I'll try again tomorrow.

And the updated slideshow:

Teeth

Grabbing her toothbrush.

Focusing on the sides. Watch the concentration.

And don't forget those bunny teeth in the front.

She exceeded 300 strokes for sure.

Another Example

Little Susy home-maker also likes to put away the groceries!

I didn't get footage of this, but while she was putting away the fruit, she would take a bite out of each of the apples before putting them in the drawer. That's quality control for you.

Well Trained

Working parents need children that will pitch in too! So I have trained Claire to put her dirty clothes into the laundry basket before bath. She even likes doing it! No article of clothing will be left behind.

Now if I can only get her to actually do the laundry too... :)

Wedding Picture

Claire just loves our wedding photo where we are in front of the church steps, getting ready to release the doves and everyone is standing around us. She will come and sit in front of the picture and just point out everyone.

For the longest time, the only person she recognized in the photo was grandpa - who is hidden at the side! Apparently Mommy and Daddy were unrecognizable in their flashy clothing. She will point out grandpa each and every time.

She will even give a kiss.

Yes, she is a cutie.

Pearls, Pearls, Pearls

Playing dress-up with Mommy's costume jewellery is always fun.

Weather Anchor

We were heading out of the daycare to the car and when we got outside Claire said "yucky snow". It was hilarious.

Giddy Up!

Thanks Ryan and Adam for letting me borrow this!
