We received Claire's progress report from her Sr. Toddler teachers as she is now in the preschool room. Here is what it said:
Overall Summary:
Claire is a very happy, friendly and affectionate little girl. She has demonstrated continuous growth in all areas of development throughout her stay in the Sr. Toddler Room. She actively explores her environment and enjoys participating in creative and sensory activities such as painting, gluing, water play, goop play, etc. Claire recognizes colours, shapes, letters, can count 1-20, knows the days of the week and is able to find her name at the lunch table. Her language skills are very well developed and she is able to express her emotions most of the time. Claire is very observant and likes to ask questions that relate to what is going on around her. At times, she needs reminders about the rules of the room, i.e. play time, meal time, etc. Claire loves all kinds of pretend play in the dramatic and kitchen centre, loves music and movement, looking at books and listening to stories. It is a great pleasure to have had Claire in our class room. We wish her continued success in the Preschool room.
Goals:
1)To encourage Claire to follow through teacher's directions.
2)To continue to encourage Claire to use her words when she needs a turn with toys. We will guide her to take turns and share through role modeling and activities that require turn taking.
3)To incorporate toilet training we will encourage Claire to use her words for bathroom needs, make sure she sits on the toilet. We will take her more often to the washroom and look for signs of readiness, i.e. dry for longer periods of time, etc. Also read toilet training books to Claire.
4)Through the phonics program in the preschool room Claire will become more familiar with recognition of letters and numbers.

It makes me feel so great that her teachers know her so well. They are spot on with everything! That's our little Claire for you. Or should I say preschool Claire!
