Thursday Resort Activities

Today Isaac tried scuba diving!  I wanted to do this with him, but I didn't pass the medical questions with my vertigo.  He was okay on his own and we were right there since they did it in the pool.

Isaac getting ready to go.

Another adjustment of the goggles.  It was different not having to breath through your nose.

Here we go!

Receiving his instructions.

Getting ready to go under.

Here he is!

 What a pro!

It was pretty cool.  To reward himself, he had an ice cream sundae - not really.  Every day at 3pm was unlimited ice cream sundaes.  Any of the 3 flavours, any number of toppings, as manys bowls as you want.  Isaac could get used to this.  It's a great way to ruin your dinner.  I wish they did unlimited ice cream sundaes a bit earlier, like 2pm or at least waited until 7pm.

Claire is rethinking her topping choice for the day.

Ah nuts, I should have got some more sprinkles.

Wednesday Resort Activities

It was July 4th so everything was closed for the holiday.  We kept ourselves busy again on the resort.  Lots of activities were planned.

For example, Isaac and Anthony participated in Family Soccer.

While they played, Grandma and I hung out with the little ones by the pool.  We would always bring down a bag of popcorn.  And guess who would eat it all?

Who me?

Taking a dip in the pool with Grandma.

This is the only bathing suit photo you'll see.  I can't even bare to look, ha!

We bought lots of groceries and have been eating in.  It's just easier with these guys.  Trouble #1.

 And Trouble #2.

A typical meal with the kids:

And then we headed down to the rec room for a big game of Connect Four.

Yes, I've got Claire now!

Cheese!  We love it here!

Then we headed outside for the resort July 4th parade.  Each of the departments on the resort had to decorate a golf cart and all the guests had to pick the winner.  It was cute.

Almost ready to start.

Here we go!

Here come the carts. It was impressive.

The guy dressed as the american flag was pretty cool.  You couldn't see his eyes, nose or mouth.  His whole face was covered, like he had a nylon sock on.  It looked uncomfortable.

This one was pretty cool.  I think it was the recreation department.  They had someone dressed as "Johnny Liberty" (instead of Statue Liberty).  He was on the other side of the curtain though so I didn't get a good picture.

I think this was housekeeping.  I like how creative they were with the rims on their tires.  Paper plates!

And as they drove by, they threw out candy and someone randomly put these glasses on Claire.  She didn't appreciate it.  She's no Kanye.

Isaac on the other hand fits the bill.

That's it!  Jacob liked the candy best.

Bye, bye, that was fun!  Jacob looked so cute waving.

Tuesday Resort Activities

After an expensive and sweaty Monday, we opted to stay closer to the resort today.

Watching T.V. and having our snack cups before heading to the outlet mall.

Wide brimmed hats are essential in this weather.  I don't think I could see a thing with this hat on.

Having fun while Mommy shopped.

After working up a sweat, we headed back to the resort.  Claire got some braids in her hair.  It cost $35 for 4 braids....ouch.  I was worried she wouldn't sit still and would want them out right away, therefore wasting money.  But she promised she wouldn't so I let her give it a try.  She was pretty good in the chair.

So far still good.  These are supposed to last for 2 weeks.  I'm going to get my money's worth, whether Claire likes it or not.

Claire is thinking she'll take the braids off once she's off the stool.

After she was done, she wanted to go swimming in the pool and.....asked to take her braids off.  Unbelievable.  I didn't allow it.  We were keeping these things on for our whole trip and then she was going to have to show everyone at daycare when we got back and family members before I let her take these off.

I can't complain about the weather.  It's been incredible.  The heat is so much more tolerable when you've got a pool nearby.  Note to Daddy:  we need a pool.

Daddy with his hands full in the pool.

Time to jump!  Go Isaac!

Big splash!

Claire's turn and braids still in!

Ready, Set....

Go!  She doesn't make much distance when she jumps.  She so close to hitting her bum on the side.  It gave me a heart attack every time.

Note to Daddy:  We need a pool!

The good thing about swimming is that it tires you out.  Claire cozying up with Grandma and the Minnie doll she bought her.

You also build up an appetite for Jenga in the evenings!  We had a real intense game.

When Isaac gets nervous, he can't stop laughing and giggling.  It's not even his turn and he's nervous.

At this rate he's going to lose his hair early.  We see some leaning here....

Nope, we're good.  Keep on going!

Wow, this is intense.  We are really almost out of moves.

Oh man, let me get this one....please!

Isaac lives to see another day....what about Anthony....oh that one is hanging by a hair.

Ok, there is only one feasible move left.  If I get this, I will be crowned the winner.  I'm assessing the situation.  I take all games seriously.  I don't like to lose.  And.....

We have a winner!  Yup, I'm a Jenga super champion, thanks to the solid foundation I put together on the bottom.  That was all my work so I deserved it.
