Richmond Hill Tournament
Isaac's team had their last weekend tournament of the year in Richmond Hill. There were a lot of great teams and hard games. The semi-final game ended up in penalty kicks with his team coming through victorious bringing them to the finals. It was a hard fought game with his team falling short this time around putting them in 2nd place overall. Here is a shot of Isaac receiving his trophy with his coaches.
The full team.
Claire had fun as usual hanging out with the boys. It was cute to see her facial expressions whenever her brother would get close to the sidelines, either warming up, taking a throw-in, or in play. She would start to squeal and cheer him on. And whenever the crowd would clap their hands at a play she would too!
She loved just roaming around on the grounds. I couldn't get her to stop for a photo. Here she is running around the tennis court before the game.
She's really brave on her feet now and walks around like she owns the place. Here Daddy is holding on to her to snap the photo.
Then a group of boys walked by and caught her attention.
She just needs to be where the action is!

All Hands on Deck
Now that we are in full work/school/daycare swing, everyone has to do their part. Here is Claire helping Daddy "fold" the laundry.
Daddy will fold, and Claire will unfold and toss over the shoulder.
Socks can be quite tricky to pair up. But when you find the matching sock, it's really exciting!
Isaac helped me make some lasgna's. We made 3 altogether and threw 2 in the freezer for future dinners. It was delicious!
Go team!

Our First Week Back
We have officially finished our first back-to-work, back-to-school, start-daycare routine!! We’re exhausted…………
Isaac had a good first week back. He didn’t get the teacher he originally wanted, but was happy afterall with who he does have. His B&A program is also getting better. When I picked him up Friday he was finally partaking in the activities with the other kids. I guess he felt a bit awkward initially being that he is the oldest in the group.
As expected, Claire’s first week has had its ups and downs. The first few days she refused to sleep in the crib at daycare (no shocker to us). They would have to get her to fall asleep in the stroller and then transfer her to the crib. On Wednesday night she decided to get up at 4am and would not go back to sleep. By the time lunch rolled around at the daycare, our little one fell asleep at the lunch table while eating her macaroni and cheese! I really wish they would have got a picture of that for us! The last few days have been good and she is starting to sleep in the crib and she is eating well. She doesn’t cry when we leave her and she’s happy when we pick her up.
I can’t say I love being back-to-work, but I am getting used it. It keeps me busy and my new group is really nice. Mostly I am in the zone when I get to the office – concentrate on getting things done and I’m out the door to pick up the kids!
We’ve managed to get some sort of schedule together for everything but it’s pretty hectic. Our evenings have come down to carting the kids to their activities, making lunches and dinners the night before, quick-cleaning while the kids are in bed, and having few moments of peace before we are konked out for the night. What would we do if we had 1 more????
Don’t be surprised that blog entries will only come once a week now (at most)!!

In Search for the Beach
I really wanted to take the kids to the beach before the summer was over. We`ve been so busy that it`s been hard so a close second was to head down to Lakeshore.
Traffic was a mess because of the CNE, but by the time we managed to find parking and make our way down to the boardwalk, it was well worth it.
The kids had fun running around in the grass and lots of spectators were sitting by the water watching the air show. I packed some light snacks for us. The popcorn was a hit. Check out the kernel on Claire`s chin.
We headed down the boardwalk to the playground. Here`s Claire checking out the wood chips.
Thaiana pushing Claire on the swings. These two just love hanging out with each other! Look at the joy on their faces.

Our attempt to get a photo of Isaac and Claire.....who is not interested at the moment!
There were also lots of swans on the lake. Claire loved looking at them. Here`s a close up of one.
We later got some pizza and ice cream for dinner and then headed home. On leaving, Isaac asked why we never came down here more often (since it`s close to home and there`s lots to do). Very good point!! We`ll try to squeeze it into our schedule again soon.

Mohawks
We had my nephew Ben for a few hours tonight so we thought it would be fun to give Claire and Ben a bath. This was the first time we put Claire in the big tub so we thought if Ben was in there with her, it wouldn`t be as scary! They just loved it. We had some fun with their hair.

They are going to hate me when they`re teenagers for doing this!

Daycare Transition
In preparation for full time daycare next week, Claire was allowed to visit her new daycare today and yesterday.
On her first day she visited for half a day (9am-12pm). I got to stay with her this time to help get her comfortable with her new routine. She had so much fun and loved being around the other kids and exploring the new grounds. The teachers were also very nice and patient. It was cute to see her sit at the lunch table with everyone. I asked to take photos but we weren`t allowed. Boo!
On her second day, she visisted from 9am-3:00pm but I left her alone with them to see how she would handle it. She totally didn`t notice (or really cared) that I left! When I was leaving it was outside playtime in the playground and she just darted to the door along with the rest of the kids. It was as if she`d been part of the group for so long. And....she ate lunch....and.....she napped!!!! I was totally surprised about the napping bit.
Looks like she`ll be just fine! It made me realize that she will have her own life one day - without us! How they grow up so fast!

Sixfoot Bay Resort
The boys went on a weekend getaway to Sixfoot Bay Resort with Isaac's soccer team as a last hooray as the summer soccer season winded down. There was lots to do like fishing, tubing and swimming. Some photos:

James Gardens
I took Claire and Thaiana to James Gardens today. I haven't been there in awhile but I knew it would be the perfect place for Claire to do some safe wandering. The minute we got on the grounds I put her down and she was off! She loves being able to walk on her own. She does not like to hold hands!
We also brought her baby stroller and the girls took turns pushing it around. Here's Thaiana first.
And then Claire's turn.
We stopped by the pond to see the ducks. This was Claire's favourite part! She said duck.....seriously....or something really, really close to that.
I also got some nice shots of Claire in front of the flowers. The grounds are so nice I couldn't resist.
Lastly, we stopped for a little picnic under the tree before we headed home.

Getting Ready for Daycare
Claire will be starting daycare full-time Sept 8th. I took her to Yorkdale today to pick up a backpack and lunch bag that we saw a few weeks ago in Baby Gap. Luckily, we got the very last one! It's a butterfly backpack with a flower lunch bag - how perfect! Some photos of her with her gear:

She's growing up too quickly!

Family Pictures
When Claire was born Anthony's co-workers got us a gift certificate to have our pictures taken with a photographer. We finally went to do these today. The photographer recommended a lovely park near the lake in Oakville. Hopefully the great scenery will focus your eyes away from our uncooperative daughter. Just a sample of her outakes:

Even though she had a bit of the fussies, the photographer was able to get some really nice shots. Example:
Don't worry grandparents! They'll be coming to everyone soon!

Cousins
We got to spend the day at the waterpark in Niagra falls with Joanne and the boys and Grandma and Grandpa. Ryan was just so sweet with Claire. He would run up to her and say hi and hold her hand and try to give her hugs. Some photos of the pair.
A gentle hug from Ryan. So tender...
Claire in Ryan's hat.
I think he's really just practicing for Ruby.....:) (Go Ruby 2012)
The kids were famished by the end of the day. Here she is looking like she hasn't eaten in days....

Lily the Lamb
As a special gift for her birthday, I took Claire to Build-a-Bear to make her own stuffed animal. She's been in love with Isaac's Build-a-Bear's so we knew we wanted to get her her very own. It was between a lamb or a bunny, and she chose the lamb (it made her smile more). We got it stuffed and dressed and ta-da! Introducing her new best friend, Lily the Lamb.
Checking out that her eyeballs are intact.
Like 2 best friends already, here they are arguing over who's the best. Claire is pointing that Lily is the best.
Reading her new friend a story.
They will be best friends for a long time.
